The challenge in this home was “marrying” the two distinct design styles of a recently married couple. The clients also preferred to bring in texture & interest without adding too much color. In the end, the room is a great space for them to entertain (and impress!) potential clients, family & friends.
“Getting married and then moving to Arizona was challenging on many fronts. Figuring out what to do with a home that has towering ceilings and vast open spaces when you have miniature furniture and accessories that worked quite nicely in a Midwest bungalow, was no less than an adventure…. An expensive adventure at that. We spent months rearranging everything we had, and buying odds and ends that mostly ended up at Good Will. We became increasingly frustrated that our HOUSE would only be that – never a HOME we felt good about living in.
After another buying binge, my husband suggested we get help. A friend told me about a designer who specialized in integrating households and enhancing your existing furnishings and décor. Spaces sensitively maneuvered through the ‘his and hers’, and now we have OURS. Spaces created a home for us that is filled with strategically placed furniture, our family photos and accessories….some of his, some of mine, and some brand new! We couldn’t be happier in the place we now are proud to call our HOME.” – J. Rode, Scottsdale, AZ
